Accessibility

We are committed to including and embracing all people with disabilities in the life of our congregation. For questions, or to arrange a tour of our building, please email office@uucwnc.org  or call 910-392-6454.

Children

We want everyone to feel welcome. If assistance or accommodations may be helpful for your child to participate in services or religious education, or if you would like to share confidential information about your child, please contact religiouseducation@uucwnc.org

Mobility

Our sanctuary, fellowship hall, and classrooms are all on one level accessible from the parking lot.  We have designated handicapped parking near the entrance and a covered entryway where people can be dropped off.  Greeters are available to open the doors. Our restrooms are wheelchair accessible. Chairs in the sanctuary are easily rearranged to accommodate wheelchairs, and a ramp is available to access the pulpit.  We have some chairs with arms to assist with sitting and standing.

Neurodivergence and Autism

We recognize that everyone experiences the world differently, and we strive to foster an environment that values and supports diverse ways of thinking and being. To connect with a neurodivergent congregation member to hear about their experiences, please reach out to disability@uucwnc.org. We are happy to support you in finding a meaningful and comfortable place in our community.

Vision

Greeters can share large print hymnals. The order of service and hymn lyrics are projected on two large screens in the sanctuary.

Hearing

Greeters can help with hearing-assisted devices

Service Animals

Registered service animals are welcome.

Pastoral Care

Our Caring Team members, Pastoral Care members, and our minister provide short- and long-term support and assistance to all members. Please contact the Pastoral Care Team pcp@uucwnc.org or the Caring Team caring@uucwnc.org as needed.

Other Needs or Suggestions

We continually endeavor to make our church more accessible.  Please contact us with any needs or suggestions at office@uucwnc.org.
